If You’ve Met Your Grade Expectations, here’s what to do:
First of all, Congratulations. Meeting your grade expectations is a huge accomplishment and a milestone in your career. If you are considering opting for university, here are the steps you need to take:
UCAS Hub
The UCAS Hub is an online platform provided by the UCAS where all the information regarding universities and further options after the A-Levels can be accessed. Access the UCAS Hub to finalize and confirm your university placement.
Prepare for University
Begin preparing for university by arranging accommodation, gathering necessary documents, and planning your finances.
If You’ve Not Met Your Grade Expectations:
If you haven’t met your grade expectations, don’t worry—it’s not the end of the world! You still have plenty of options to consider other universities. You can opt for clearing.
Clearing
In simple terms, Clearing is designed for students whose results didn’t meet their expectations or who wish to change their chosen courses. UCAS( University and College Admission Services) provides Clearing as a backup option, where universities with available vacancies are listed on the UCAS Hub. Students can match their UCAS points with each university’s minimum requirements.
How to Appeal My A-Level Results?
If you think that your grades are not marked correctly or there has been an error in marking your grade, there are some steps you can take.
Talk to Your Peers
It is advisable to consult your peers and check if anyone is also unsatisfied with their results as well. Sharing this concern with your school teachers will also be a good option. If there are a lot of students who think they should have received a higher grade, likely, that the Cambridge board has actually made a mistake in marking. However, this is very unlikely and you should keep that in mind.
Consult Your School
If you are sure that the Cambridge Board has made a mistake in marking your exam, immediately consult your school and after a meeting with your teachers they will contact the Cambridge Board for re-checking your paper. Keep in mind that after re-checking your paper, your grade can go up, stay the same, or even go down.
